Adrienne Jo Barbeau is an American actress and author best known for her roles on the sitcom Maude (1972) and in horror films, particularly the ones directed by John Carpenter, with whom she once got married. Born June 11, 1945 in Sacramento (California), she is the daughter of an Mobil Oil Company executive. In the beginning of her career, she was a star in Someone's Watching Me! (1978), The Fog (80) and Escape from New York (81), all John Carpenter-related productions. At times, she's collaborated with George A. Romero. This includes the Stephen King anthology Creepshow (1982) and Two Evil Eyes (90). She also collaborated with horror directors, for instance Wes Craven's movie Swamp Thing about a superhero monster. She was best known as Catwoman in Batman: The Animated Series (1992) during the 1990s. The Broadway production of "Grease" she played Betty Rizzo, the tough-girl Betty Rizzo. She's also the author of "There Are Worse Things I Can Do" (2006) and the comedy vampire romance novels "Vampyres of Hollywood", "Love Bites", (2010) and "Make Me Dead." (20
