Alicia Silverstone was the youngest of three siblings and was born in San Francisco, California on October 4 in 1976. Silverstone is the daughter of Didi (Radford) and is who was a former flight attendant as well as Monty Silverstone, a real estate investor. Her father is English and comes from a Jewish family. Her Scottish-born mother converted to Judaism. Alicia's television career started at the age of six when her father began taking pictures of her infant daughter. This led to a number of commercials. After appearing on The Wonder Years (1988) as a literal "dream girl" and then moved on to movies. She landed a role in The Crush (1993), a sort of Fatal Attraction (1987) for teens in which she played a disturbed young girl who is obsessed with an older male. While the character was not well received by critics, it impressed the intended audience of teens. In fact, the role was awarded her the 1994 MTV Movie Award for "Best Villain" and "Breakthrough Performance". It's interesting to note that Alicia was an emancipated kid while filming, allowing her to escape any restrictions on her work hours. She was an ardent actress from the beginning on.The film also attracted the interest of Aerosmith and Aerosmith, who hired her in their a number of music videos. MTV has voted "Cryin" the top video of all time. Silverstone was certainly a big hit with the MTV audience, but greater commercial success was still not her. It all changed when she was offered the role in the role of Cher in Amy Heckerling’s Clueless (1995). Cher was the exact opposite to the character of Alicia in The Crush.
