 Ashanti Shequoiya is an American singer-songwriter, dancer and record producer. The Grammy award winner rose to fame in the new millennium with the hit album "Ashanti" as well as the song "Foolish". This album was a huge hit and sold over five million copies. The first album's sales for Ashanti were also included in the Guinness Book of World Records. She was a part of the glamor business from at an early age and was a part of commercials and music videos but she rose to fame by releasing her modern R&B debut album. Her writing ability is also not a surprise than her lyrics and singing for Jennifer Lopez "Ain't it Funny (Murder Remix)" was able to propel the track to the top spot in the Billboard top 100. Ashanti was even honored with the title of "Princess of Hip Hop & R&B" by her own company. For her incredible album's popularity, she was awarded eight Billboard Awards as well as two American Music Awards. It is worth noting her roles as an actress in "Bride and Prejudice" (2004) and "About Time" (2013).
