Bellamy Young

 Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1 is an American actor, producer and singer, best known for her role as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). In 2014, in recognition of her performance of Mellie, Young won the Critics' Choice Television Award for the Best Supporting Actress in the Drama Series. Young was also a part of Fox's Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young was born Amy Maria Young (22) and adopted. She changed her name to join the Screen Actors Guild since there was another Amy Young registered,[3] and she chose the name Bellamy in honor of her father's most beloved friend, Bill, who had assisted in raising her following the death of her father. She graduated from Asheville School in 1987. She was a student of Physics at Yale University before moving on to English and Theatre. She graduated in 1991. Young spent the summer at the British American Drama Academy in England in the course of her college studies.
