Bill Murray

 Bill Murray is an American actor comedian, writer, and actor. The fifth of nine children He was born William James Murray in Wilmette, Illinois, to Lucille (Collins) and was Mailroom clerk, and Edward Joseph Murray II, who was a lumber dealer. Murray is of Irish descent. Some of his siblings are actors Brian Doyle Murray, Joel Murray, and John Murray. He and most of his siblings worked as caddies, and this helped pay for his tuition at Loyola Academy, a Jesuit school. While at the school, he played sports and performed some acting however, he claimed that many of his classmates "screwed off". After being detained for marijuana possession and a felony charge, he was took a course at Regis College Denver to study premed. Alongside Gilda Radner and John Belushi, he joined the National Lampoon Radio Hour. He joined Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell (1975) as a guest, which was the first Saturday Night Live show. The show was unsuccessful, but he was later offered to be a part of Saturday Night Live (1975), for which he earned his first Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy-Variety/Music Series. Then, he became a star in comedy films like Meatballs (1979), Caddyshack (80), Stripes(82), Tootsie (1982), Ghostbusters(1984), Ghostbusters II (1989), Scrooged (1988), and what About Bob? (1991) as well as Groundhog Day (93). He also co-directed Quick Change (1990). Murray received further critical acclaim for his part in Lost in Translation (2003). It led to him receiving an award of a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award and an Academy Award nomination. Murray also received Golden Globe nominations for his roles in Ghostbusters, Rushmore (1998), Hyde Park on Hudson (2012), St. Vincent (2014), and the HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge (2014) in which he later won his second Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Short Series or a Movie.
