Bindi Irwin

Bindi Sue Irwin was the daughter Terri and Steve Irwin. They are natural conservationists and the stars of the Crocodile Hunter series. Young Bindi grew up on the grounds of the Australia Zoo, joining zoo staff members in their day-to-day tasks as a young girl. Bindi was educated at home, allowing her to remain close to family and the animals that she loved. Because of her father's work in the television industry, Bindi made her first broadcast appearances as early as two years old, and was featured in shows such as The Crocodile Hunter Diaries, and 2002's film The Wiggles: Wiggly Safari. Bindi was the center of media attention when her father Steve was injured by a stingray on a shoot in the year 2006. When she was eight years old, Bindi found herself acting as spokesperson for her family, conducting interviews with important TV personalities such as David Letterman, Ellen DeGeneres, and Larry King. With a number of film projects in the making prior to the loss of her father, Bindi's personal loss coincided with her first major forays into the film industry. Bindi Kidfitness was released on DVD and CD in 2006 and became an immediate hit. Australia's Ambassador for Tourism was her tagline. This involved a hectic tour schedule, which included live appearances in a variety of cities around the globe to help promote Australian eco-tourism. Additionally the Discovery Kids television network program named Bindi the Jungle Girl went into production shortly thereafter. The series of 26 episodes is scheduled to debut in the fall of 2007.
