Cheryl Ladd (born Cheryl Jean Stoppelmoor; July 12, 1951) is an American actor, author, and singer best known for her role in the role of Kris Munroe in the ABC television show Charlie's Angels, whose cast she joined for its second season in 1977, to take over Farrah Fawcett-Majors. Ladd was a regular on the show until the show's cancellation in 1981. Her film roles included Purple Hearts (1984), Millennium (1989), Poison Ivy (1992), Permanent Midnight (1998) and Unforgettable (2017).Ladd was born Cheryl Jean Stoppelmoor on July 12th, 1951 in Huron in South Dakota. She was the second daughter of Dolores (nee Katz), who was a waitress, and Marion Stoppelmoor, a railroad engineer. She began her career as a musician in Hollywood as a singer and songwriter. She began to get singing roles on TV and in commercials.
