Colin Kaepernick

Colin Rand Kaepernick is an American professional football quarterback. He was a fervent player of basketball, football and baseball in his early years. He has had incredible success in all three most popular American sports. When he was accepted into a junior football league, he began playing football when he was eight years old. He was a punter and defensive lineman. The following year, he became the team's quarterback, and threw his first pass to score an extended touchdown. He was also a part of his high school baseball team as a pitcher that could throw 94-miles-per-hour fastballs. He led his basketball team to the high school state championship playoff. Despite having achieved the majority of his high school awards in the field of baseball, Kaepernick was adamant about playing football in college. He was a student at the University of Nevada, Reno and joined their Nevada Wolf Pack football program. He was drafted by the 'San Francisco 49ers' as the backup quarterback. He was 25 years old and played a major part in the 49ers' winning the NFC title. He received both praise and criticism in 2016 when he protested against what he saw as the oppression of the non-white races in America.
