Danica Sue Patrick, /'daenIk@/ was born March 25, 1982 and is an American former professional racing driver. Danica Sue Patrick is among the top-performing American woman open-wheel racing driver. Her victory in Indy Japan 300 in 2008 is her first major win. She quit high school with the permission of her parents in 1998, and moved to the United Kingdom to further her career. Patrick was a competitor in Formula Vauxhall before moving to the United States in 2001 because of the lack of funding. She took part in five Barber Dodge Pro Series races in 2002 with Rahal Letterman Racing. Patrick competed in the Toyota Atlantic Series the following two years. Her best performance was placed third in the standings for championships for the 2004 season when she became the first woman to win the pole position in the race
