Dennis Quaid

 Dennis Quaid, an American actor and musician, is well-known for his dramatic and comedic performances on television as well as in films. The younger brother of the popular actor Randy Quaid, he has worked in a number of films, including 'Breaking away' The Rookie' 'Vantage Point' The Parent Trap' and 'Far from Heaven'. He has appeared in numerous television shows, including the popular period drama Vegas and was also executive producer. As an artist, Quaid is in the band 'The sharks'. Quaid is famous for his song "Closer To You", which he wrote and sang in the 1987 film "The Big Easy". Juanita B. and William Rudy Quaid were their parents. The actress was born in Houston, Texas to his brother Randy and Nita Quaid. He went on to attend Bellaire High School where he studied dance and Mandarin Chinese. Quaid was enrolled at the University of Houston, but was unable to finish his studies before graduating. Very generous, he has raised money for charities numerous times. He has been involved in the New Orleans-based International Hospital for Children. The actor made many visits to Central America in the 1990s to help in the development of medical clinics as well as to transport sick children back to the USA.
