D.L. Hughley

 Hughley is the second child of four. His father was an airline maintenance worker, and his mother was a homemaker.He was raised in L.A.'s South Central where he was a member of the Bloods gang after getting exiled from the high school. After the death of his cousin, he made a comeback and turned his life around. He quit the gang and was hired as a telemarketer with the Los Angeles Times, where he moved into management and became engaged to his bride-to-be. She was the one who convinced him to test his wit on stage. After years of club dates and a few club dates, he was picked by BET as the first host for "Comic View" and then gained additional recognition with two very adult-oriented HBO specials.
