Donald Edmond "Donnie" Wahlberg Jr. was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 17th 1969. He is the eighth son of a Swedish, Irish, English and Scottish family. He is the eighth of nine children of Alma Elaine Conroy (nee Donnelly) who was a nurse's assistant and clerk , as well as Donald Edward Wahlberg, a delivery driver. The couple eventually separated and Donnie, finding himself already struggling, found the joy of acting in school plays. He also was involved in a variety of aspects of theatre including acting as well as writing and directing. He was a member of the NYNUK teens' vocal group when he was 15 years old. Donnie's brother, Mark Wahlberg, was once part of the Boys. However Mark Wahlberg was unhappy with the direction in which the group was heading and pulled out.
