Jeanne Crain

 Jeanne Crain was born in Barstow, California, on May 25, 1925. Jeanne Crain was the daughter of an English teacher at the high school and his wife. Her father was employed at another teaching job in Los Angeles so Jeanne was quickly relocated to Los Angeles. In junior high school, Jeanne played the lead in a school production which set her on the path towards acting. While in high school Jeanne was asked to take an audition for a role in a movie by Orson Welles. Although she was not selected for the role, it set Jeanne on her way to becoming a movie actress. Jeanne also enrolled at UCLA to study Drama. Jeanne was only 18 when she was offered a role in Fox Studio's movie entitled The Gang's All Here (1943). The film won her was also offered a contract. Her subsequent film was Jeanne taken on an important role in Home in Indiana (1944) in the year following, which was filmed in neighboring Kentucky. The film was a definite success. Jeanne was awarded a star-rating and a boost due to her box-office success with In the Meantime, Darling (1944). The film was widely criticized by critics who also applauded Jeanne's performance. Jeanne was a great performer in her last film of the year, Winged Victory (1944). The audiences loved it and the film earned a lot of money.
