Jose Jose (Jose Romulo Sosa Ortiz Mexico City, Mexico; February 17 1948 - September 28, 2019,) was a Mexican singer and musician. He was born into a musical family and was raised in Mexico City. Jose started his career in music when he was a teenager, playing guitar and singing in serenades. He then joined the jazz and bossa nova group where he sang as well as played double bass and bass. Jose was a successful solo artist during the 1970s. He proved his skills as a tenor performer by delivering a powerful rendition of "El Triste" at an Latin music Festival in Mexico City in 1970. The song was instrumental in his rise to the Latin charts during the decade. His singing became a success, and he earned international recognition for his balladeer. The album he released in 1983 Secretos has sold more than 7 million units. He has been nominated for several Grammy Awards across the globe and has been recognized with many international hit songs. The venues he played at sold out like Madison Square Garden or Radio City Music Hall.
