Kat Dennings was born Katherine Victoria Litwack in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, close to Philadelphia and was the daughter of Ellen (Schatz), a speech therapist and poet, as well as Gerald Litwack, a molecular pharmacologist. She is the youngest of five children. The family she comes from is Russian Jewish. Kat was a teenager when she graduated from a homeschooling family. Kat was raised in a home and completed her education at the age of 14. The actress later gained a bit of fame through her performances in The House Bunny (2008) and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008).
