Kevin Jerome Gilyard is an American singer, rapper and entrepreneur. Popular for his smash studio album 'Islah', that was released in the year 2016. He is also well-known for his mixtapes such as 'Stranger than Fiction and 'By All Means'. Having released several hit songs and mixtapes during his career, he could be considered one of the most successful contemporary American singers. Gates was born in 2005 and began his career in 2005 following signing with Dead Game Records, a local label, rose to prominence in the second half of the 2000s, along with rappers Webster Gradney, known popularly as Webbie, as well as Torrence Hatch, a popular name as Boosie Badazz. In 2007, the trio released their first mixtape "Pack of Da Litter". They released their first mixtape, 'Pack Of Da Litter' in 2007. Gates is best known for his autobiographical themes in his songs. Following the release of his debut album, "Islah", Gates became a hugely acclaimed artist. Gates has named famous artists like Eminem and Jay-Z as his influencers. Gates is not just a successful musician but also has a darker side. He has been in and out of prison many times. He was the subject of controversy when his kicking of a female fan in 2015 during a stage show. In the present, he is being held for 30 months in prison sentence.
