Kyra Sedgwick

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick, born in New York City on August 19, 1965, to Patricia (Rosenwald), who is a speech therapist as well as a family member, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV, an investor in venture capital. Her mother came from an upper-class German Jewish family, and her father was from an affluent Massachusetts family with English descent, and had many famous family members (including the judge Theodore Sedgwick and educator Endicott Peabody).Sedgwick went to private school. When she was 16 years old she made her debut as a professional actor on the soap opera Another World (1964). As a graduate of USC, Kyra has pursued a career that includes stage screen, television and stage. Kyra's motive for becoming an actor is that it gives her the ability to be kind and compassionate, and also be able to walk in the shoes of others. As "Donna" Tom Cruise's high school sweetheart, her first big break was Born on the Fourth of July (1989). Miss Rose White (1992) as well as Something to Talk About (1995) were two of her roles which earned her nominations for the Golden Globes. Kevin Bacon was her husband. They first met when she was in the lead role in Lemon Sky (1988). They have two children.
