Lennox Claudius Lewis CBE (born 2 September 1965) is a boxing commentator as well as a former professional boxer who competed from 1989 to 2003. He is a three-time world heavyweight champion, a two-time lineal champion, and is the last heavyweight to hold the undisputed championship. Dual Canadian as well as British citizenship, Lewis was an amateur representative for Canada at both the 1984 and 1988 Olympics. He was awarded an Olympic gold medal in the super-heavyweight class after beating Riddick bowe in the final. Lewis also won numerous regional titles in the beginning three years of professional fighting as well as titles in the British, Commonwealth, and European regions. He won his 21 first fights and was able to beat Donovan Ruddock in 1992, to take the number one spot in the WBC rankings. He was declared WBC champion at heavyweight later in the year following Riddick Bowe decided to give up the title to avoid defending the title against Lewis. The title was held by Lewis for three times, before losing to Oliver McCall in a knockout in 1994. Lewis avenged the loss in a 1997 rematch to win back the vacant WBC title.
