Torrence Ivy (Boosie BadAzz) was born in Louisiana. His father, Torrence Hatch Sr. (Boosie BadAzz), was a pastor who died in 1997. His mother, Connie Hatch was a school director. Boosie was diagnosed as a child with Type 1 Diabetes. His cousin, Young Dee, saw Boosie's potential in his teens and began accompanying him to various events. In the 1990s Boosie met Boosie and C-Loc to Baton Rouge rapper C.Loc. Young Bleed, C-Loc, and MD were mentors to Boosie and taught him the ways of the business. Being Boosie was the youngest participant in Concentration Camp, he was allowed to join them in 1998. C-Loc was joined by Lucky Knuckles and Boosie, who became the youngest participant of Concentration Camp. Boosie was 17 when Boosie was 17, he recorded his debut album, "Youngest of da Camp." Happy Perez handled the production aspects. Max Minelli, Donkey and C-Loc appeared on the album.
