Patti LaBelle, an actress and singer, is considered to be the queen of soul and rock music. She has been praised for many of her songs that include "Lady Marmalade,"" "When You Talk About Love" and "New Attitude." In 1959 she was a member of the Ordettes. The Ordettes changed into the Bluebelles. In 1983, she became an independent artist following the release of her smash album "I'm in Love Again". The Bluebelles were a household name during their time at The Apollo Theater, Harlem, New York. They were dubbed the "Apollo Sweethearts." The group enjoyed modest success with their remakes of hits like "You'll Never Walk Alone" or "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as well as their most popular track "Down the aisle" reached the top 40. The group's early success is a testament to their achievements. Cindy Birdsong, then a Bluebelles member was forced to leave the group in the year 1967 to join the band with Diana Ross and The Supremes. The remaining Bluebelles members tried to get out of their musical slump as they were.
