Sir Paul McCartney is a key actor in the contemporary world as a musician, singer poet writer, artist, humanitarian, entrepreneur, and the holder of over 3000 copyrights. He is included in the "Guinness Book of World Records", for the most records, most #1s (shared) and the most well-known track, "Yesterday," and the biggest audience that paid for solo performances (350,000or more in Brazil in 1989). He is considered to be one of the greatest entertainers of all time. James "Jim" McCartney was his father. He was a cotton merchant and a pianist who led the Jim Mac's Jazz Band, Liverpool. McCartney is of Irish and English descent. Young McCartney was raised as a non-denominational. He studied music and art, and had a happy childhood with one younger brother, Michael. At the age of 11, he was one of only four students to pass the 11+ exam, called "the scholarship" in Liverpool and earned an admission to Liverpool Institute for Boys. He attended the institute from 1953 until 1960, and graduated with an A level in English and Art.
