Reba Nell McEntire was born on March 28, 1955 in McAlester (Oklahoma). From the age of 5 the reigning queen of country music Reba Nell McEntire has pursued a career in music. In Junior High school she sang with the musical brothers of her, aka the McEntires Singing. A fine athlete, Reba McEntire followed in the footsteps of her rodeo champion father in competitive barrel racing. The performance she gave of the "Star Spangled Banner" at the 1974 National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City caught the attention of songwriter Red Steagall, who suggested that she think about an opportunity in the field of country music. Since then, she has been awarded 7 gold and 5 platinum albums, as well as two Grammy Awards. She also has explored different possibilities of entertainment, such as being a guest host on Good Morning America (1975) and receiving generally positive reviews for her performance in the film titled "Tremors" and the TV mini-series, Buffalo Girls (1995). In 1988, she formed Starstruck Entertainment to oversee the various aspects of her music and acting careers.
