The series ran for eight years and kick-started Allen's acting career and established him as a stand-up comedian and actor in Hollywood. After his appearance on the sitcom, he got big roles in films like "Galaxy Quest" and "The Santa Clause' film series. He also voiced the character 'Buzz Lightyear in the 'Toy Story film series. Allen was a frenzied person before becoming an actor. His father passed away when he was just 11 years old, and he was involved with illegal drugs to make easy money. He was arrested for the possession of cocaine and placed in jail for 28 months.
