 Brazilian soccer great Pele declares he's "strong" and has "a lot of hope" in the midst of his treatment for colon cancer.Pele's social media post on Saturday came in the wake of local news reports in Brazil stated that the 82-year-old former soccer player's health had worsened."My dear friends, I'm trying to keep everyone calm and optimistic," said a statement on Pele's Instagram page."I'm strong, with lots of faith and I follow my usual treatment. I want to express my gratitude to all of the nurses and medical team for all the care I have received."I have a lot of confidence in God and each message of love I receive from people all over the world keep me motivated. Also, I'm excited to watch Brazil in the World Cup too!"According to a statement by the hospital on Saturday Pele's health remains stable. Former footballer aged 82 Pele, one of the most successful players of all time, was admitted to the Sao Paulo hospital on Tuesday to reconsider his treatment following Pele had a tumor removed from his colon in the month of September 2021.On Sunday, Brazil head coach Tite spoke at a press conference about the anxiety he felt when meeting Pele.Tite declared, "This is possibly the only person who I actually felt a little shake when I first met Pele. It was an extremely emotional experience. It's difficult to describe it. I was instructed to hug Pele and then stop shaking. My hands began sweating. My heartbeat increased. "Wow!"
