Cassandra Lynn Scerbo (born March 30, 1990)[citation needed] is an American singer, actress and dancer. She was a member of the all-girl ensemble Slumber Party Girls, which appeared on the CBS children's variety show Dance Revolution. In acting, she starred in the role of Brooke in the film Bring It On: In It to Win It (2007) and also as Lauren Tanner in the ABC Family comedy-drama series Make It or Break It (2009-2012), and in the role of Nova Clarke in the Sharknado film series with Ian Ziering and Tara Reid (2013-2018).Scerbo was born on Long Island, New York. She has Italian origins. Scerbo was born in Parkland, Florida and played soccer for the Parkland Soccer Club. She lived in Florida from the time she entered kindergarten until she was cast into Make It or Break It. She was a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. In the year 2006, Scerbo successfully auditioned for the group of music girls called Slumber Party Girls. Scerbo was selected as one of the five members out of over 1,000 fellow applicants. In September of 2006, the group was the host of the children's variety show Dance Revolution which promoted nutrition and fitness to children. Slumber Party Girls' original songs were dominantly featured through the series run. The debut album Dance Revolution was released but did not chart. The show was cancelled for a second season. In the middle of 2007, as the group began working on their next album, the group was discovered to be been split. In the year following, Scerbo signed an independent recording contract with Geffen Records.
