Luke was born in the month of September, 1985. He was fostered by his mother in the Romford area, describing himself as a 'proud Essex boy'. Luke was qualified to audition for the National Youth Theatre and later enrolled at the Central School of Speech and Drama where he received the Alan Bates Bursary. After graduating, he built up a formidable stage C.V. that included the role of the lead in Tennessee Williams’ 'Orpheus Descendingat the Manchester Royal Exchange and the Young Vic's 'Blue/Orange’. Luke also is a renowned playwright. He actually started writing as a second-string in his teens to aid him in the event that he couldn't make it as an actor. His plays 'Goodbye to All That' and 'So Here We Are' were presented to acclaim by the Royal Exchange in Manchester, and the play 'Growth' received rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe, and "Hearts" performed at Sheffield Crucible as well as the Shed at the National. In 2016, he is also an Bush Theatre commissionee. The actor can be seen as Dr Dwight Enys, an idealistic but flawed character from the second series of 'Poldark. He is engaged to Joanna Horton, a actress born in April of 1980. They have a daughter Albie.
