Maria Teresa Kumar, an Emmy-nominated activist for voting rights and political politics She has dedicated her life to encouraging inclusive political participation. Rosario Dawson, actress Rosario Kumar, and she co-founded Voto Latino an organization that is non-profit and national which uses technology and the media to encourage young Latinx voters. Voto Latino, under her leadership, has registered more than a quarter of a million voters. They are also an original partner of National Voter Registration Day. Maria Teresa Kumar was born in Bogota in 1974. Kumar was able to move to the United States when she was very young, and was raised in Sonoma County, California.
