Amanda Tapping

 Amanda Tapping, a British-Canadian actress/director was born 28 August 1965. Her most well-known character is that of Samantha Carter on the Canadian-American military sci-fi TV series Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. She also appeared in the role of Helen Magnus in the science fictional-fantasy TV series Sanctuary.Born in Rochford, Essex, England, Tapping moved with her family to Ontario, Canada, when she was three years old. She was a student at the North Toronto Collegiate Institute, where she was a star in environmental science and drama. When she was done in 1984, she made the decision to focus her attention on acting, and enrolled in the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Arts in Windsor, Ontario
