David Walter Foster, OC OBC is a multi-Grammy winning Canadian musician and composer, songwriter and arranger. He has been a key musician in the modern western genre for most of his nearly five-decade career. The way he was educated was to enhance his musical talents. Foster began taking piano lessons at the age of four and attended the University of Washington's music program nine years afterward. In 1974, he moved to Los Angeles as a member of the band 'Skylark', and after the first and inevitable period of struggle, was awarded his first Grammy Award in 1980. Since then, he's made platinum and gold albums with artists likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Natalie Cole, Seal; Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Chicago; Hall & Oates, Brandy, and 'N Sync. He also composed timeless classic songs for many blockbuster movies, including The Bodyguard', 'Urban Cowboy' and "St. Elmo's Fire'. He was the chair of Universal's Verve Music Group from 2012 to 2016. This added a new highlight to his resume. Recently, he was a part of the panel of judges.
