Denzel Washington

 Denzel Hayes Washington Jr. was born on the 28th of December 1954 in Mount Vernon, New York. He is the middle of three children of a beautician mom, Lennis, from Georgia, as well as an Pentecostal minister father Denzel Washington Sr., from Virginia. Denzel, who graduated high school, was enrolled at Fordham University with the intention of becoming a journalist. He was student actor in drama productions. Following graduation he moved to San Francisco to enroll at the American Conservatory Theater. He left A.C.T. After just one year, he quit A.C.T. to pursue acting. His first role as an actor was in a summer stock theatre stage production in St. Mary's City, Maryland. The show was "Wings of the Morning" that was about the creation of the colony of Maryland (now the state of Maryland) and the beginning times of the Maryland colonial assembly (a legislative body). He played the part of an actual historical character, Mathias Da Sousa, although much of the dialogue was created. He started to look for acting roles on the screen following the film. With his versatility in acting and imposing presence, he had no problem securing work in a variety of television productions.
