Dwayne Johnson

 Dwayne Douglas Johnson (also known as The Rock) was born May 2, 1972 in Hayward. Ata Johnson, born Feagaimaleata Fitisemanu Maivia, is his mother. Professional wrestler Rocky Johnson is his father (born Wayde Doug Bowles). His father hails from Amherst Nova Scotia, Canada. His mother is Samoan. Her father is Peter Fanene Maivia. Dwayne grew up traveling a lot with his family and observing his dad wrestle in the ring. During his high school years, Dwayne began playing football and he soon received a full scholarship from the University of Miami, where the student had a tremendous amount of successes as a player. In 1995, Dwayne suffered a back injury which caused him to be denied a spot in the NFL. Then, he signed a three-year contract with the Canadian League but left after one year to pursue his dream of wrestling.He made his first appearance in the sport with the USWA under the name of Flex Kavanah where he won the tag team championship along with Brett Sawyer. In the year 1996, Dwayne joined the WWE and was renamed Rocky Maivia where he joined a group known as "The Nation of Domination" and turned heel. Rocky eventually assumed the direction of the "Nation" and began taking the identity of The Rock. After the split of "Nation", Rocky assumed the presidency of the "Nation" and began to adopt The Rock's persona.
