Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor was regarded as one of the top stars to emerge from the old Hollywood studio system. Her beauty and violet eyes made her a worldwide star. Her birthplace was London, England on February 27 1932. When she was born English and her parents, Sara Sothern (nee Sara Viola Warmbrodt) and Francis Lenn Taylor were Americans who were art dealers from St. Louis. Her father had moved to London to start an art gallery. Her mother had been an actress on stage, but gave up that vocation when she married. Elizabeth was a resident of London at the age of seven , until her family relocated to USA in 1939, as the US was undergoing war. They set sail without her father, however she stayed with him to complete his art-related business.
