January Jones

 January Jones was born in Sioux Falls (South Dakota) on January 5, 1978. Marvin Roger Jones, a fitness instructor and gym teacher, is Jan Jones' father. She is the daughter Karen Sue (nee Cox) and Marvin Roger Jones. She has German, Czech, Danish and English ancestry. She was named after the character January Wayne in Jacqueline Susann's potboiler novel turned film, Once Is Not Enough (1975). There are two sisters in her family, Jacey Jones and Jina Jones].Her family relocated to the tiny town of Hecla, South Dakota, with a population of just some 400 souls in 1979, before she was only one year old. They returned to Sioux Falls in 1986. She relocated to New York City after graduating from Roosevelt High School. Despite her height (5'6", which is short for a fashion model) she was able to get modeling jobs, including Abercrombie & Fitch ads. Modeling was only an escape route to South Dakota and not go to college.
