Jason Momoa

 Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa was born on August 1, 1979 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Coni Momoa (a photographer) and Joseph Momoa (a painter) are his parents. His father is of Native Hawaiian and Samoan descent as is his mother. His mother, who hails from Iowa is of German, Irish, and Native American ancestry. Jason was raised by his mother in Norwalk (Iowa). Following high school, he relocated to Hawaii, where he landed a lead role, beating the competition of thousands of hopefuls in the TV show Baywatch (1989) (known as "Baywatch Hawaii" in its 10th season). He spent the next few years traveling around the globe following the end of the show. He relocated to Los Angeles in 2001 to pursue his acting career. After the TV series North Shore (2004) ended, he was given the role of "Ronon" Dex, the TV series Stargate: Atlantis (2004).
