Jessica Chastain

 Jessica Michelle Chastain was a Sacramento native and was born into a middle-class family in Northern California. Her mother, Jerri Chastain, is vegan, and her family originates from Kansas and her father is a fireman. She started dancing at the age of nine , and was in a dance company when she was thirteen. She started performing in Shakespearean productions throughout the Bay area.An actor from a production of "Romeo and Juliet" inspired her to apply for Juilliard as a drama major. She became a member of "Crew 32" thanks to the scholarship of one of the school's famous alumni Robin Williams.In her final year at Juilliard, she was given a hold deal with TV writer/producer John Wells and she eventually worked in three of his television series. Jessica is still involved in the theatre, and has been in "The Cherry Orchard" and "Rodney's wife", “Salome” and "Othello". She splits her time between New York City and Los Angeles and is employed in film, theatre, and television. 2011 was a great year for films. She won and was nominated to a variety of awards and was awarded the Oscar nomination in 2012 for the Best Performance by an Actress in the Supporting Role.
