Kate Beckinsale was born on 26 July 1973 in Hounslow, Middlesex, England and has been a resident of London for the majority of her life. Judy Loe is her mother. She has appeared on several British dramas and sitcoms. Richard Beckinsale was her father who was born in Nottingham, England. He was the main character in many British television comedies in the 1970s, which included the television series Rising Damp (1974), Porridge (74) as well as The Lovers (1970). In the year 31 he passed away tragically. In her teens , she twice took home the British bookseller W.H. Smith Young Writers competition, once for three short stories and once for three poems. Following a turbulent adolescence (a case of anorexia which was successfully cured - as well as a smoking habit that persists to this day) She gradually took on the role of an actor.
