Kenneth Copeland is one of the most prominent leaders of the Charismatic Movement and is an American author as well as a public speaker and televangelist.He is the founder and president of Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM).Copeland has been widely credited with preaching the message of prosperity and abundance, commonly known as the prosperity gospel, and has been criticized by various denominations.Early life andBorn Kenneth Max Copeland on December 6, 1936 , in Lubbock, Texas to His parents, A. W. and Vinita Pearl (nee Owens) Copeland, Copeland grew up in West Texas near a United States Army Air Forces airfield that inspired him to become a pilot.Prior to his conversion to Christianity in November 1962, Copeland was a recording artist for the Imperial Records label, having one Billboard Top 40 hit ("Pledge of Love", which charted within the Top 40 on April 20 in 1957. It remained on the charts for fifteen weeks and peaked at 17th place.)
