Kevin Jerome Gilyard is an American musician, rapper, and entrepreneur. Most well-known for his hit studio album , 'Islah' which came out in 2016. He is also popular for his mixtapes like 'Stranger Than Fiction as well as 'By Any Means'. Having released several hit singles and mixtapes throughout his career, he can be regarded as one of America's successful contemporary singers. Gates started his career with Dead Game Records in 2005. He was signed to the label by an local rapper. In the latter half of 2000s, Gates rose in popularity with Webster Gradney (popularly known as Webbie) and Torrence Hatch (popularly known as Boosie Bazz). They released their first mixtape "Pack of Da Latter" in 2007. The trio released their first mixtape'Pack of Da Litter' in 2007. Gates is most well-known for his autobiographical themes that are featured in his songs. Following the release of his first album, "Islah" he became a hugely popular artist. He lists Jay-Z as well as Eminem as his influences. Gates isn't only a successful musician, but he also has a dark side. He has been to and from prison numerous times. He was the subject of controversy when he kicked a female fan in the year 2015 during the stage show. He is currently serving a 30-month prison sentence.
