Margaret Denise Quigley was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to an Irish father Polish and Irish origin (originally located in New York) and a Vietnamese mother. The couple came together during the Vietnam War. Maggie has two older half-siblings from her mother's previous marriage as well as two sisters who are older. The family moved to Mililani, Hawaii. Maggie was initially planning to be a veterinarian, but she later became model and quickly became famous in Asia. For the Chinese public she changed her name from Maggie Q to Maggie Q. She was an actor in the supporting cast in Mission: Impossible III (2006) starring Tom Cruise.
