Marg Helgenberger

Marg Helgenberger is a renowned dramatic actress whose prominence has steadily grown. Her achievements have been recognized in film, TV and on stage. The majority of her career has been spent in dramatic television roles however, she has also been a prominent presence in feature films.Helgenberger received a degree in drama at Northwestern University. A talent scout enlisted her to join the cast on the soap opera Ryan's Hope (1975) where she appeared over the course of the next four years.Throughout the 1990s Helgenberger was cast in a variety of roles in made-for-TV movies and as a guest actor on many TV series. She was particularly featured in films that were produced for both the Lifetime cable network as well as Showtime. The film received critical acclaim In Sickness and in Health (1992), Thanks of a Grateful Nation (1998) and Perfect Murder, Perfect Town: JonBenet and the City of Boulder (2000).In the TV show, she won an Emmy for her performance of the hard-bitten prostitute that catered to Vietnam War soldiers, in the series China Beach (1988). She also played George Clooney's love interest in a multi-episode arc of the hugely successful television series ER (1994).In the feature film industry, Helgenberger has appeared in Tootsie (1982) as well as Steven Spielberg's Always (1989), Species (1995) and In Good Company (2004).
