Melanie Jayne Lynskey (born 16 May 1977) is a New Zealand actress. She is known for her roles as women who are complex and her mastery of American dialects,[2] she works mostly in independent film. Lynskey has received two Critics' Choice Awards. She also received an award called a Gracie Award. A New Zealand Film Award. She is also the recipient of a Hollywood Film Award. After moving to the United States, Lynskey built a career as a supporting actor in a number of films with a large and small budget like Ever After (1998) and Detroit Rock City, But... (both 1999), Abandon, Sweet Home Alabama, (both 2002) Shattered glass (2003), Flags of Our Fathers (2006).
