Wilson was born in Sydney, New South Wales in Australia. She studied acting at the Australian Theatre for Young People. Then, she travelled to New York on an award for further training. Her first fame was her role in the show "The Westie Monologues" that brought her into public attention. Her acting career began in Australia with the TV show Pizza where she was the main character. The show also resulted in a spin-off film in which she reprised her role. After appearing in a variety of popular TV shows and movies over the years, she finally became known internationally, especially for her appearances in American movieslike "Bachelorette" and "Pitch Perfect."
