Steger started his career in commercials, and he also guest starred in VR Troopers 1994. After appearing as Mohamed Esfiri on NCIS in 2005, he landed the privilege of playing a regular part in The Winner in 2007. In 2006, he was selected by Tim Burton as the lead part in The Killers' song video "Bones". In 2007 Steger has been featured in a variety of Disney Channel productions. He was a guest in the Hannah Montana episode titled "Everybody was Best-Friend Fighting" and the Cory in the House episode named "Macho Libre", and had an appearance as a co-star in the Disney Channel Original Movie The Cheetah Girls: One World that debuted on August 22, 2008. He also guest starred in the show Criminal Minds in 2008.From 2008 to 2013, Steger played the role of Navid Shirazi in The CW's 90210. [4] He produced and directed a single-woman show called Brandee Built on Crazee which starred his wife Brandee Tucker. [2] On 21 April Steger posted on Twitter that he and Brandee welcomed a daughter named Poet Louise Steger. Brandee and Michael welcomed Mozart Lee Steger on the 10th of January 10, 2020.
