Michelle Monaghan

 Michelle Lynn Monaghan was conceived in Winthrop (Iowa) on March 23, 1976. She is the youngest of three kids and the sole daughter of Sharon (Hamel), who managed a day care center, as well as Robert L. Monaghan, who was a farmer and factory worker. Her ancestry is predominantly from German and Irish heritage. After having completed high school in Iowa, she studied journalism for three years in Chicago's Columbia College. To pay for college she worked as model. In 1999, she left the college to become a full-time fashion model and model in New York. She traveled the world doing fashion shows in Milan, Singapore, Tokyo, as well as Hong Kong, and also enjoyed appearances in a number of magazines and catalogs.In 2000 she made her TV debut with two episodes of Young Americans (2000), then appeared in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999). Her big screen debut was made in 2001 , with the part in the role of Henrietta on Perfume. Monaghan shot to fame in 2002 when she co-starred as Kimberly Woods for one season on the TV series Boston Public (2000). Following her appearance in a number of roles in supporting roles, Monaghan was a part of the cast with Robert Downey Jr. & Val Kilmer in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2006). In 2005, Monaghan was filming in China, Italy, and the United States on Mission: Impossible III (2006), as the female lead opposite Tom Cruise.
