Ric Flair

Richard Morgan Fliehr isn't what you'd think of from a professional wrestler. Flair was a medical student at Minnesota University. His father was a surgeon and his mother was an actress. He quit school to prepare for the AWA World mat wars under Verne Gagne, who was a legend former champion. On the 10th of December, 1972 the day Flair made his professional wrestling debut, taking "Scrap iron" George Gadaski (realname: John Kosti), to an elapsed ten minutes in Rice Lake. Flair began his professional career with Gagne's Minneapolis Boxing & Wrestling Club. He was later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in which he worked for Jim Crockett Promotions, a part of the world's sanctioning body, the National Wrestling Alliance. Flair was directed by George Scott, a matchmaker (wrestling terminology). He took his first NWA World title in 1981. He would also win the belt nine times more. He would later work with World Championship Wrestling, which Ted Turner formed after purchasing the JCP assets along with Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Entertainment.
