Calvin Broadus, also known as 'Snoop Dogg' is an American rapper who was also a popular media personality and is one of the most prominent people in the gangsta scene during the 1990s. Snoop is best known for his singing talents, but he also has appeared in numerous TV and film dramas. Snoop was born in the United States and enjoyed singing and rapping at a very young age. However the singer was detained several times for drug possession as a teenager before opting to pursue a serious career in hip hop. Eventually, his talent was spotted by the famed producer-rapper Dr. Dre, and Snoop's debut album , 'Doggystyle", released in the year 2000, introduced him to the music industry. His singles "Who am I (What is My Name)" and "Gin and Juice" have made him famous and helped define the gangster rap of the 1990s. Snoop has had a number of hits on his albums, including "The Doggyfather", "No Limit Top Dogg" as well as "Doggumentary". His illustrious professional career has seen Snoop has also appeared in numerous movies and has been a regular appearance on television shows.
