Stephen King

 Stephen Edwin King was born on September 21, 1947 at the Maine General Hospital in Portland. His parents were Nellie Ruth (Pillsbury), who was a caregiver in a mental hospital as well as Donald Edwin King, a merchant seaman. While his father was known as "Pollock", Stephen was born under the name "King". David is Stephen's older brother. The Kings were a normal family until one night, when Donald claimed he had gone out for a smoke, and was never heard from ever again. Ruth took over raising the family with the help of relatives. Ruth was the one who took care of the family and took care of them with help from relatives. David bought a mimeograph machine and the two created a newspaper they sold for 5 cents an issue. Stephen was a student at Lisbon High School, in Lisbon in the year 1962. In 1963, Chris Chesley, his best friend, published 18 stories in a collection called "People Things, Places and Things Volume 1". King's stories included "Hotel at the End of the Road",
