Vanilla Ice

 Vanilla Ice was born Robert Matthew Van Winkle, October 31, 1967, in South Dallas Texas. Camilla Beth Dickerson was his mother. His father left when at the age of four and, since then, he has had many stepfathers. He is of German and English roots from his mother's side.In the teen years, Robert was a poor student with low grades and skipped school often. When he was in the 10th grade, he was only 18 years old and had left school. Ice earned a living from washing cars in the 1980s. Ice was fascinated by the dancing and culture of some of his peers as well as later registering at an area nightclub to perform. He was naturally adept when it came to dancing and rapping, and needless to say, the crowd loved his performance. Later, he was dubbed "Vanilla Ice" because his skin color was white.
