Morgan was born on June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee to Mayme Edna (Revere), an educator, as well as Morgan Porterfield Freeman. Morgan is a barber. The young Freeman was a student at Los Angeles City College before being a part of the US Air Force as a mechanic from 1955 to 1959.
