Morgan Freeman

 With a powerful voice and calm demeanor The ever-popular American actor has developed into one of the most revered names in contemporary US cinema. Morgan was born on June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee to Mayme Edna (Revere), an educator, as well as Morgan Porterfield Freeman. Morgan is a barber. The young Freeman was a student at Los Angeles City College before being a part of the US Air Force as a mechanic from 1955 to 1959. His first encounter with acting was the stage, including an all-African-American production, Hello, Dolly!. He also received Drama Desk and Clarence Derwent Awards, and received an Tony Award nomination in 1978 for his role in The Mighty Gents. In the year 1980, he received two Obie Awards, for his portrayal of Shakespearean anti-hero Coriolanus in the New York Shakespeare Festival and for his role in Mother Courage and Her Children.
