Michael Oher

 Michael Jerome Oher (/o/; ne Williams Jr.; born May 28 the 28th of May, 1986) was an American football offensive tackle. He played eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL) mostly with the Baltimore Ravens. He played in the NCAA football tournament at the University of Mississippi, where he was awarded unanimous All-American distinction and was picked by the Ravens in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He also played for the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers.Oher's life through his final year in high school as well as his his first year at college was one of subjects of Michael Lewis' 2006 book, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, as well as the Academy Award-winning 2009 film The Blind Side.Born Michael Jerome Williams, Jr., in Memphis, Tennessee, he was one of 12 children of Denise Oher. His mother was afflicted by alcoholism and crack cocaine addiction, and his father, Michael Jerome Williams, was frequently in jail. He did not receive much attention or discipline throughout his childhood. He repeated classes in the first and second grades and attended 11 different schools over the first nine years of his time as student. When he was seven the boy was put in foster care. He lived in various foster homes and went through times of being homeless. Oher's father, a former cellmate of Denise Oher and who was also a high school senior who was shot dead in prison.
